Bungoma and Kakamega counties maize farming
Western and Rift Valley regions of Kenya are well known for their soil productivity. Maize thrives in these areas, and the organization is committed to engaging local communities in maize plantation projects. The initiative is progressing well, with an estimated 50% expansion planned for the next season.
Kisumu and Kisii counties fish farming
With the devastating environmental effects of climate change, which have caused the degeneration of Lake Victoria, Lake Turkana, and other lakes and rivers—key sources of income and food for local communities—the organization has ventured into safe fish farming projects in various areas to sustain the livelihoods of these communities and provide food for fish consumers.
Nairobi and Kilifi counties watermelon farming
Fruits are proven sources of vitamins and serve as both staple foods and food supplements in various communities. Seizing every farming opportunity, the organization has initiated the cultivation of watermelons, butternuts, cucumbers, courgettes, and pumpkins to bridge market gaps and improve both human and animal health.
National Sanitation and tree planting activities
In a bid to prevent environmental degradation, the organization has taken an active role in implementing soil conservation strategies in its farming methods. Moreover, to improve climate quality and soil productivity, tree planting is key; thus, the organization has invested in its key operational counties to plant various kinds of trees and support both natural and man-made vegetation.
National activism and human rights projects
Any threat to human life is a threat to the existence of a community. The ACP DYSS, through its human rights department, vows to maintain the socio-political and economic balance within Kenya. At ACP DYSS, we take seriously any disregard for human rights. We uphold that all life matters and is equal, regardless of race, gender, origin, or social class. We believe in global integration and uphold international laws that keep human relations in harmony. It is natural to join efforts to uproot any form of injustice.
